To provide immediate assistance by collaborating with agencies that provide resources to address the needs of the victims, and will implement a series of workshops for abused victims and eventually provide a transitional shelter for women and children
Rebuilding lives is an important and often difficult challenge.
It takes a village to raise a child. A strong passion of dedication and experienced staff, outstanding support programs and time. Without intervention and education programs, victims of domestic violence find it extremely difficult to break the cycle of coercion and abuse that become the norm in their lives.
Through the compressive domestic violence programs and services at HM2, victims of domestic violence receive the time and the tools necessary to live healthy, independent, and violence-free lives.
By reducing risk factors and providing the information, education, life skills and support HM2 is able to break the cycle of domestic violence and empower victims to move beyond the abuse and live fulfilling lives.

Programs

Group Supportive Counseling
Is the coordination and provision of support groups to focus on the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence. Client participation is voluntary.
Individual Supportive Counseling
Is one-on-one counseling that is and assists clients in resolving problems stemming from issues related to domestic and sexual violence. Client
participation is voluntary.
Information/Educational Groups
Are groups that focus on specific topic areas of interest to clients. Client participation is voluntary. Twenty-Four Hour Hotline is the availability of trained staff by telephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide crisis counseling, guidance, emotional support, information and referral, etc.
Public Awareness:
Systems Change: Working within the community to develop an understanding of the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence, services that are available, and to identify and implement changes within the community systems that will benefit survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
Personal Advocacy is assisting clients in securing rights, remedies, and services from other agencies, intervening with other agencies/systems to ensure sensitive and effective responses, policies and procedures relative to domestic and sexual violence. Client participation is voluntary.
Support Services
Are voluntary services available to clients and their dependent children. Services may vary and shall be tailored to the individual need of each client
and their children. Client participation is voluntary.
Optional Services Include:
Family Counseling
Is the provision of counseling services to two or more members of the same household and/or family. Client participation is voluntary.
Emergency Response Services
Are face-to-face services that may include, but are not limited to, emotional support provided by advocates, counselors, or peers in an emergency basis, as authorized by the client. Services will be provided at non-traditional safe locations such as hospitals, police stations, survivors' homes, etc.
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners Program (SANE)
Is creating and operating comprehensive programs to provide sexual assault evidence collection services utilizing specially trained nursing staff.
Education/Prevention:
Developing and conducting specially designed educational groups and workshops. Topics may include, but are not limited to, domestic and sexual violence issues, problem solving and communication skills, dating violence, etc. Developing and conducting specially designed groups and workshops. Topics may include, but are not limited to domestic and sexual violence issues, problem solving and communication skills, dating violence, etc.
Legal Services
Provide referrals from a network of legal counselors servicing St. Louis City, County, and St. Charles County on behalf of domestic and sexual violence
victims.
